The primary role of the Airport Fire Service based at the City of Derry Airport is to ensure that incidents or accidents can be dealt with quickly and efficiently ensuring the safety of everyone using and working at the airport.
To ensure safety the 23 strong team are trained to the highest standards possible by our dedicated team of in-house instructors and assessors.
Airport Fire Service training is continuous and forms an integral part of a fire fighter’s career. Consequently, instructors and trainers are amongst the most experienced in the North West region.
As a result, the City of Derry Airport Fire Service can now provide training programs to small and large businesses throughout the North West and beyond.

All our instructors and assessors are experienced operational professional fire fighters or fire officers as well as first aid responders. They all work for a proactive growing business that has been serving the North West of Ireland and beyond for many years.
All our instructors hold the L10/11, or PTLLS instructor qualifications alongside the A1 NVQ assessor qualification, ensuring a high quality training and learning experience for airport staff and external customers.
