City of Derry Airport, (CoDA Operations Ltd), provides a vital air access link for the local community and performs a pivotal role in the economics of the region.  The airport is ideally placed to serve not only the city but its natural catchment in County Derry-Londonderry, Donegal, North Antrim, Tyrone and surrounding districts.  CoDA has undergone a major transformation in the past few years, with a modernisation programme that has delivered a significantly better passenger experience.  In 2013, the airport handled over 400,000 passengers travelling to a range of UK and European destinations.  CoDA is a progressive, commercially focused and continually changing business with a talented, passionate and committed workforce.

CoDA are currently seeking to recruit:  Experienced Airport Hand/Fire-Fighter

Casual Contract. Ref: FF0814

Join us, as a Fire-Fighter and you’ll be putting your expert knowledge to use within a challenging working environment with real variety on offer.  We have a need for a Casual Fire-Fighter to join our team. Applicants must be qualified and experienced Fire Fighters with familiarity of working at an airport an advantage.

As a minimum it is essential that applicants possess the following:

Essential Criteria

  • Successful candidates will be required to undertake a medical to meet

Civil Aviation Authority standards

  • Breathing Apparatus wearers certificate
  • A minimum of one years’ relevant experience of working as a qualified firefighter
  • Applicants will have 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above or equivalent and will be required to undertake a pre-entry assessment.

Desired Criteria

  • Current Fire Fighter Certificate of Competence
  • Valid LGV driving licence
  • A minimum of one years’ relevant experience of working as a qualified airport firefighter

Candidates will be required to produce evidence of achieving/maintaining currency at fire fighting duties by production of personal development/training records showing attaining/maintaining operational performance standards within the last 12 months

The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre employment medical examination by an approved CAA Aviation Medical Examiner to establish fitness to carry out the full range of duties and responsibilities of the post.
